ABOUT ME
My name is Kavee Kirschner and I am a photographer and climber from West Loop, Chicago area. I got into photography mainly due to my dads background in photography as a wedding photographer. My grandma bought my first camera, a small red point and shoot Nikon, when I was about ten years old. Since then my passion for photography has grown quite a bit. The summer between 7th and 8th grade I went on a National Geographic photography expedition where I got to work with some of the amazing photographers from the Nat Geo team. Since that trip I've thrown myself into the realm of photography, but it wasn't until late January of 2019 when the Polar Vortex came around and I took what is one of my favorite photos (the cover photo of the album "What it Really Feels to Live Life Golden"), that I really knew that this was something I wanted to keep pursuing for the rest of my life. As for climbing I started when Brooklyn Boulders Chicago opened up in 2014, but it wasn't until late 2016 that I really fell in love with the sport. Since then I've spent countless hours trying to perfect my craft. Both photography and climbing being my two big passions in life, but I also paint and do woodwork so I'm going to use this site to showcase my work in climbing and photography as well as painting and woodworking. Im aiming to start some sort of small business selling my artwork. if your'e curious please check it out @kavees_art on instagram.
